TGA Future Class 2022

Howdy! Thanks for stopping by and considering me for the Game Awards Future Class of 2022. I would like to ask for your support in nominating me this year.

Who am I?

Christopher C. Castillo! But you can call me Chris, or Kanaju! I’m a Hispanic graphic and game designer from sunny San Antonio, Texas. I’ve been passionate about game development for as long as I’ve been able to hold a controller. I share an equal passion for local culture and historic preservation. Over the past few years I’ve shared both passions with the local and global community through various outlets:

Known as Kanaju on YouTube, I share my passion for details in games with over 110,000 monthly views.
In San Antonio, I organized a ragtime festival to coincide with the city’s year-long tricentennial celebration, full of music, dancing, and history.
I’m currently in the process of having an unannounced travel guide published by an academic press. This travel guide invites readers to engage with local history in a way inspired by open-world games.
I designed the official No Man’s Sky playing cards, The Traveller’s Deck, for the game’s 5th anniversary.
My games on Roblox have been played over 1 million times.
My first full-length indie title is currently in development! I can’t wait to share more with you!

Why Future Class?

The Game Awards Future Class helps amplify the voices of members of the games community who, in many cases, are just getting started. That’s where I am! Everyday, I’m working towards my goals of sharing my passions for game design and historic preservation with a wider and more engaged audience. Being a part of the Future Class would not only be validating on a personal level, but the opportunities it could open would make a world of difference to me.
